Imagensia was founded by Laurie H. Kind, a dedicated art museum professional who has spent her career specializing in the acquisition, management, licensing, and publication of digital images. While completing her M.A. in museum studies and art history at Syracuse University, Laurie interned at the Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington, DC) and the Everson Museum of Art (Syracuse, NY). She worked briefly in the Atlanta commercial gallery sector before joining the High Museum of Art (Atlanta, GA), where she partnered closely with curators, artists, and historians on exhibitions and publications. Laurie secured high-resolution imagery and copyright permissions for more than thirty exhibition catalogs. During her twelve years as the High Museum's sole rights and reproductions manager, Laurie introduced and implemented the High's Piction digital asset management system (DAMS), which now stores over 50,000 archival assets.
Working with museum publications, rights contracts, and DAMS metadata developed Laurie's sharp-eyed copyediting talent. She has applied this skill in freelance transcription and editing projects for the legal and insurance industries, and keeps current with training from professional editing organizations.
Through Imagensia, Laurie is now offering her deep experience and knowledge to non-fiction writers and scholars of all types who are searching for expert navigation of copyright for materials they wish to publish.

Originally from Florida, Laurie lives just outside of Atlanta with her husband of twenty years and two teenage children. She enjoys traveling, painting, making photographs, and reading books on linguistics and etymology.
